Earllaine Croarkin PT, MPT, NCS
Earllaine Croarkin, PT, MPT, NCS, has been employed by the National Institutes of Health at the Clinical Research Center since 1996 and is a practicing Neurological Clinical Specialist.
As a result, she works mostly with neurologically impaired cancer survivors. She has been an Associate Investigator in clinical trials and her efforts have led to peer-reviewed publications, task force involvement, and national presentations.
When children came along, online education became a way to stay more involved professionally. First, as adjunct faculty with the University of Michigan at Flint, and later by producing a neuro-oncology course with ‘Great Seminars Online’. She also co-teaches a regional course, provided through the Academy, on balance deficits and falls in cancer survivors.
From this emerging area of research and the work of her colleagues, the Oncologic Balance and Falls Special Interest Group of the Academy of Oncology PT was founded. She now serves as the Chair of this SIG. Collaboration with colleagues within the Academy has offered opportunities for career development- for that she is grateful! Her next goal is to squeeze in a little more sailing!
